Coins, gems, and crates

Separate Coins, match cash, and gems, then spend the one-time 200 Coin group bonus before you buy a crate.

Three wallets do different jobs. Mixing them up is how players buy a crate and then cannot upgrade the unit.

The three currencies

Wallet What pays it What it buys
Coins Wins, codes, the group bonus, Robux bundles Summons and some crates
Match cash Clearing waves, and bonus cash from Scientist Placements and upgrades inside the match
Gems Quests after 20 wins Spider Crates. Gems can also be added to a trade

Match cash from early waves is described as a few hundred, then thousands later. That number is not the Coin reward for winning.

One-time 200 Coins

Join the Aligators Games group, like the game, and favorite it. A lobby prompt near spawn pays 200 Coins once when you load back in. That is the fastest first summon, and it does not repeat.

Win rewards that were printed

One October farming guide prints this vote-screen table:

Vote Waves Coin reward on a win
Easy 20 100
Normal 30 200
Hard 35 300
Insane 50 600

It also says an Easy Toilet City clear takes about five minutes with basic Cameramen, so Easy is the coin-per-minute farm. A different October guide lists only Easy, Normal, and Insane and does not print these coin totals. If your vote screen shows a different set, trust the screen. During a 2x coin event those win rewards are described as doubled. The X2 in the title is that kind of badge, not a damage multiplier.

Shop prices that were printed

Offer Price
3,000 Coins 159 Robux
10,000 Coins 399 Robux
New Mythics Pack, the three October mythics 1,000 Robux
2x Speed pass 99 Robux
Skip Wave or Auto Skip Varies
Basic Crate, one pull 100 Coins
Basic Crate, ten pulls 900 Coins
Scientist Crate About 49 to 50 Robux, or a reported 20% drop from an Insane clear

The 10,000 Coin bundle is the better Robux rate of the two bundles. The 2x speed pass is the comfort purchase that shortens long waves. It is a one-time pass, not a subscription.

Crates

Crate Paid with What the card says
Basic Crate 100 Coins, or 900 for ten Banner odds. Two October readings disagree on the 30% and 0.1% names. See the summon guide.
Scientist Crate Coins or about 50 Robux, and a reported Insane drop The pre-October crate. Scientist and the rare Engineer path are tied to it.
Spider Crate Gems 90% / 9.8% / 0.2%. The 0.2% slot is TV Spider. Buy 1, Buy 3, and Buy 10 are on the card.
Woman Crate Match drop, not a coin purchase Camera Woman, Speaker Woman, and TV Woman. One player said a crate can drop each time you win a round.

Use the TV Spider calculator with the percent on your crate card. The 0.2 default is the October 10 figure, not a promise.

A spend order that matches the gates

  1. Redeem codes you have not claimed. See how to redeem.
  2. Take the 200 Coin group bonus.
  3. Summon until you have a Scientist and a couple of attackers, or stop when the banner is not showing the unit you named.
  4. Max units inside matches with match cash before you buy another Robux pack.
  5. Win toward 20 clears so Quests start paying gems.
  6. Spend gems on the Spider Crate only after you have read the 0.2% slot.
  7. If you spend Robux, the speed pass changes how the game feels more than another coin bundle does.

Trading is the other way to fill a hole the crate did not. The lobby Trading button lists players in the server. Both sides have to accept. Gems can sit in the offer next to units. A separate channel posted that trades were closed for an unspecified time. October 11 lobby guides still describe the button as working. Look at your lobby. If the button is missing, do not assume a trade you saw in a video is still available.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Cameraman Tower Defense free?

Yes. Matches cost nothing. Robux is optional and buys coin bundles, a mythic pack, a 2x speed pass, and skip passes. Coins for summons also come from wins, a one-time group reward, and codes.

Who makes the game?

Aligators Games, the Roblox group credited on the experience, with aibat303e and iop_dev named in the description. This wiki is not run by them.

How do I start a match?

In the lobby, step onto a match platform. The official description says that starts a match. Then place a Cameraman or another unit you own where it can hit the toilets, and beat the waves.

Are Coins and match cash the same?

No. Coins are the lobby currency for summons, crates, and code rewards. Match cash is what you spend during a wave on placement and upgrades. A crate purchase does not pay the upgrade cost of the unit you pulled.

Does the X2 in the title double damage?

The public title still includes X2, and one October guide describes a double-coins counter on the match HUD. That is not a damage multiplier, and the game page does not publish a rate. Read the live counter before you plan a farm.
