Start here: your first match

Win the first Easy match by placing two or three cheap units before wave 1 and upgrading the one that is actually hitting toilets.

The official loop is short. Step on a lobby platform, place cameramen and other units you own, and beat the toilet waves. One October match guide calls the thing you are protecting a golden statue. Another describes a base with 1,000 HP. Watch the health object in your own match. Leaks end the run either way.

Before you step on the pad

The left lobby menu holds Units, Shop, Trading, and Quests. Quests are labeled for 20 or more wins, so they stay locked in a first session. The pad in the lobby is the start button. There is no separate battle button in the Shop.

For a first clear, pick the easiest vote and a short map such as Cameraman HQ. Easy is where the placement habit is cheap to learn. Save Insane until a Normal run stops leaking.

First match

  1. Step on the platform and enter the match.
  2. Check hotbar slots. Each unit shows a match-cash price. Starter units are the ones you can afford before wave 1.
  3. Place two or three cheap attackers where the toilets enter, facing down the lane. In-match cash pays for this, not Coins.
  4. Clear the first wave. Early clears pay a few hundred match cash. That is the upgrade fund.
  5. Upgrade the unit that is actually hitting toilets. Damage and cooldown both improve with level, so one upgraded unit beats a row of level 1 copies.
  6. If a second path opens, cover it before you buy another upgrade on the first lane.
  7. Between waves, look at the base. Every leak spends the margin you needed for the next upgrade.
  8. After a win, use Play Again if it is on screen. That control was added with the October 10 update and reruns the same setup without a lobby trip.

The opener people use later

The reported long-run opener is Scientist, then Plunger. Scientist pays bonus cash while it fights, and maxing it is described as the gate for placing Engineer Cameraman. Plunger is the cheap body that keeps toilets off the Scientist. You do not need that pair to win Easy. You do need an economy unit and a body once the waves get thick.

A separate Insane walkthrough opens with Ninja Cameraman instead, then adds Scientists, and only later funds a Titan. Both plans agree on one point: put an attacker down before you fill the board with income units.

Five ways a first run leaks

  • Holding match cash. It does no damage on the bench. Spend down to the next placement or upgrade.
  • A wall of level 1 units. Packs walk through them. Three upgraded units win the early waves.
  • Ignoring a second lane. Check the far side every few waves.
  • No answer to a pack. One area unit on a corner is worth two single-target units once toilets arrive in a bunch.
  • Never opening Shop. The code field is at the bottom, and the one-time group reward is a separate 200 Coins.

If something fails

If a unit will not place, read the price on the HUD. If the whole map refuses placement, rejoin. Large patches have shipped with map bugs that were hotfixed afterward.

If toilets reach the base, the next match should put early cash into one unit instead of a third placement.

Later in a solved run the game can auto-skip waves you have already cleared. A Skip Wave pass exists for that grind. It does not fix a leak.

When Easy is boring, read the maps and placement guide before you vote Insane, and the unit index before you spend Coins.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Cameraman Tower Defense free?

Yes. Matches cost nothing. Robux is optional and buys coin bundles, a mythic pack, a 2x speed pass, and skip passes. Coins for summons also come from wins, a one-time group reward, and codes.

Who makes the game?

Aligators Games, the Roblox group credited on the experience, with aibat303e and iop_dev named in the description. This wiki is not run by them.

How do I start a match?

In the lobby, step onto a match platform. The official description says that starts a match. Then place a Cameraman or another unit you own where it can hit the toilets, and beat the waves.

Are Coins and match cash the same?

No. Coins are the lobby currency for summons, crates, and code rewards. Match cash is what you spend during a wave on placement and upgrades. A crate purchase does not pay the upgrade cost of the unit you pulled.

Does the X2 in the title double damage?

The public title still includes X2, and one October guide describes a double-coins counter on the match HUD. That is not a damage multiplier, and the game page does not publish a rate. Read the live counter before you plan a farm.
